🎭 **Okame Flower - Okame Mask:**
The Okame mask symbolizes good luck, 
happiness, and inner beauty, representing a kind and joyful woman. Also known as Otafuku (“Much Good Fortune”) and associated with the Goddess of Mirth, Ame-no-Uzume, this mask brings good fortune, fertility, and joy to households and festivals. It is often paired with the Hyottoko mask and worn to encourage positivity, particularly in Kyogen theatre, as a symbol of a nurturing woman.
I created flower tokens by infusing the demon mask with my Monster Flora. The Okame token flower symbolizes inner beauty, joy, former energy, and good fortune. I drew inspiration from @yayoikusamamuseum Kusama’s style of polka dots, as she is renowned as the “Queen of Dots,” emphasizing repetition in her work.
The red background evokes feelings of anger, danger, aggression, and pain. However, there is a positive aspect to these negatives—they also amplify passion, energy, and strength. The white elements in the painting provide clarity, freshness, simplicity, and purity.
I chose a green flower to represent health, hope, nature, growth, and prosperity, while also alluding to the negatives of envy, blindness, sickness, and boredom.
When a person looks at the painting, they absorb energy that shifts from negative to positive. Anything overwhelming can be transformed through this painting, giving it flower token energy—an energy that can be contained and utilized for multiple purposes.
